You believe in promoting social justice, environmental stewardship, and compassion for all people, guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The "Christian Left" is a term used to describe a spectrum of left-wing Christian political and social movements that largely embrace social justice. The Christian Left holds many of the same political beliefs as secular leftists, but also incorporates religious aspects into their political ideologies. This group emphasizes the biblical ideals of love, peace, social equality, and care for the marginalized and the poor, which they believe are at the heart of the Gospel. They often advocate for issues such as environmental stewardship, universal healthcare, racial equality, and soci…

What's a personal story where 'faith, hope, and love' played critical roles in tackling a social issue?
@9KB9B5J3mos3MO
I think just general care and love for other human beings can help solve a lot of social issues. I don’t think they need to be rooted in faith but just in being a good person.
@9KB9PBHPeace and Freedom3mos3MO
Because I feel as if I'm the same way, so I can relate.
@9KB9C8B3mos3MO
Stop supporting the **** ing genocide and the killing of innocent people
I'm atheist so i don't have a opinion on this issue
@9KB944BRepublican3mos3MO
Political issues are purely political issues and no other. Unless you feel strongly about something that could affect your life.
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
What does a compassionate community look like to you, and how do we build it?
@9KWKMYB3mos3MO
A compassionate community looks like peace, it looks like a clean area that no littering is allowed in, I imagine it being clean, rsectfu, and soothing.
A compassionate group are people who like what they like and try to convince others to follow with their beliefs. A way to build these groups is to work on finding people who believe in you common idea to join and then start working to recruit people who may not have similar beliefs.
@9KWKVKZRepublican3mos3MO
A community where everyone has respect for each other and treat other with kindness
@9KWL2N83mos3MO
A compassionate community is a community in Which everyone loves themselves and each other, and everyone forms a great bond.
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
When have you seen 'loving your neighbor' make a real difference in your local community?
@9K9V6BHIndependent3mos3MO
Haven't seen his before, but doesn't mean it doesn't work for communities
@9KHWP293mos3MO
Jesus teaches that we should love our neighbor this is the second command he gives us, if more people did this there would be less problems in the world.
@9K9VCDJ3mos3MO
I feel like there isn't a lot of loving your neighbor in my local community. It seems people are very judgmental and quick to judge others instead of agreeing to disagree. I know it is possible to get along with others who have different beliefs and values than you do, because I have friends myself who have different beliefs, yet we can get along.
@9K9V4PP3mos3MO
It does show a difference because it's about showing kindness, compassion and support to those around you.
@9K9PTY23mos3MO
I think religion is a problem and is a direct inhibitor in unifying the people. I also think there needs to be more separation of church and state and politicians should not be able to use religious beliefs in as political (or party) values / beliefs..
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How do you interpret 'faith without works is dead' in the context of social activism and charity?
@9JKR27M4mos4MO
I don't believe in such thing, faith will never die.
@9JMS73JIndependent4mos4MO
faith isn't anything if your actions aren't proving it clearly. it is only fantasy. real faith produces actions everytime.
@9JKSCXX4mos4MO
This means that without carrying out our values, like actually helping the poor or saving the environment, then those values really mean nothing and it's just performative. People who say they have values to help people but don't actually do the hard work to help people are lying to themselves.
@9JKR3S84mos4MO
respecting themselves, and other living life
selfless service
loving one another while sick or not
@9JKR4Z94mos4MO
Offering selfless service to the society and obeying policies.
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
What is one way you’ve seen ‘faith without works is dead’ in action in your community?
@9LFJ4BX2mos2MO
I have seen it in a ton of churches and not displaying the great commission or Christ-like behavior
@9LF24KW2mos2MO
people having faith but not having enough to put it into action is shown in political/moral arguments and decisions
@9LDZFKPWomen’s Equality2mos2MO
I’ve seen that people don’t care about certain religious rules of certain religions.
@9LDZCCP2mos2MO
People going to church everyday and work the next day
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
How would you handle a situation where standing up for what’s right could cost you personally?
@9KV55TT3mos3MO
The most important thing is to stand up for what's right whether this costs the person or not.
@9KV47JP3mos3MO
i would do everything in my power to improve others lives
@9KV3BS83mos3MO
The Christian Left movement grapples with social justice issues through the lens of Christian values. This can lead to situations where speaking up for what's right might come at a personal cost. Here are some ways to navigate such a situation:
Evaluate the Situation:
Severity of Cost: Consider the potential consequences. Is it a disagreement with a friend, a potential risk to your job, or something more serious?
Alternatives: Are there other ways to address the issue that might be less confrontational? Can you educate or persuade others without directly challenging authority?
Stay Gro… Read more

What is an example of a time when you've 'bore one another's burdens' and how did it change you?
@9K9PMXR3mos3MO
There has been many times but I would probably say when someone in my ward got diagnosed with cancer and everyone in the ward made dinner and helped them out.
@9K9PKYKPeace and Freedom3mos3MO
I paid for someone to play a game with me, and I had to bare the burden of the cost of the game.
@9K9P4R63mos3MO
I am not sure if I've ever experienced this personally, but I would appreciate if the government acknowledge other religions other than Christianity.
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
How do you think individuals can balance their moral convictions with respecting diverse viewpoints in public discourse?
@9LDZWJH2mos2MO
They can approach diverse viewpoints with respect and understanding. The biggest problem people have when talking about their religious views, is that they refuse to acknowledge that people can have different opinions than them. But, treating someone with respect immediately, will cause them to treat you with respect too.
@9LDZMZN2mos2MO
You can't be christian and left. It doesn't work like that
@9LDZGXGPeace and Freedom2mos2MO
mind your own bussiness??? hello its not that hard
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
What does 'loving your neighbor as yourself' mean in the age of the internet and social media?
@9LH2F4J2mos2MO
Don’t treat others in a way you wouldn’t want to be treated
@9LHG79D2mos2MO
Loving one's neighbor as yourself should be characterized more as caring enough to hold them accountable as responsible people, rather than simply not treating them unfavorably. Sometimes people don't want to have responsibility, but it is in their best interest and/or more meaningful.
@9LH2YS92mos2MO
The Christian Left is generous in there morality but dangerous in overall convictions.
I think Christians don't follow these values. As an atheist it doesn't concern me.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How does your personal understanding of 'love thy neighbor' influence your stance on immigration?
@9JKRS544mos4MO
I fully support legal immigration. It's illegal immigration that makes people upset, especially legal immigrants.
@9JKRBLN4mos4MO
You should love even the immigrants no matter the race because at the end of the day we are all one.
@9JKR2XQ4mos4MO
I stand with the constitution of separation of church and government.
