You believe that integrating Catholic values and teachings into political and social policies will lead to a more just, moral, and harmonious society.
Political Catholicism is a political and cultural phenomenon rooted in the Catholic Church's decision to become an active player in the democratic political process. It is a broad term that encompasses a variety of political ideologies that are influenced by Catholic social teaching. This ideology is not confined to a specific political party or movement, but rather it is a set of principles that guide political action based on Catholic doctrine.
The history of Political Catholicism dates back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the Catholic Church began to engage mor…

If the goal of policies was to bolster family unity, what might be the first steps?
@9JS72DHRepublican4mos4MO
To use this ideology to get millions of people on board.
@9JS7M7W4mos4MO
Attempt to persuade people to listen to the people in power.
@9JS7JH6Peace and Freedom4mos4MO
Put posters around of it and have the president make a speech about it.
@9JS74ZZWomen’s Equality4mos4MO
To put all people that believe in the same things in the same place.

Would Catholic moral teachings on issues like abortion and marriage benefit or harm society as a whole?
@9H9D7SM6mos6MO
Political Catholicism only harms society. As the Supreme Court case, there must be a separation of religious beliefs and politics. If you pass laws that make people conform to one ideology, there will be a reaction from the people. If you want to share your religion with others you can do that in your own time to people who seem interested instead of pushing your beliefs onto someone who does not share the same leave of interest as you do.
@9H994S26mos6MO
harm, everyone should be able to make their own decisions without the bias of religion
@9H999XZ 6mos6MO
Due to my religion, I would say that it would benefit society. However, America rightfully protects the freedom of the individual meaning that the right to an abortion is covered by the constitution.
@ISIDEWITH7mos7MO
Should politicians be guided by their religious beliefs, or should they keep religion out of their policy-making?
@9H89L9Y6mos6MO
They should do what is best to represent who elected them while ensuring their actions are not applying a belief to everyone as the US is diverse
@9H89J3S6mos6MO
No, definitely not, one cannot decide the future of the country based on emotions or religious feelings. Religion can influence the thoughts of political leaders and that is fine since they have complete freedom to believe what they want, but they cannot impose what they believe is correct if this could affect the nation.
@9H89JWM6mos6MO
I think politicians should keep religion out of their policy-making.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
Do you think a society's strength is enhanced or weakened by policies grounded in a common belief system?
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How do your personal experiences influence your opinion on the mix of religion and politics?
@9HTY4DG5mos5MO
i think that religion and politics should be separate. politics tend to affect a large amount of people, and i think that religion should be something that only affects the individual who chooses to practice it.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
What values are most important to you in a political candidate, religious or otherwise?
@9HW3HQY5mos5MO
I do not take any religious values when electing someone, we should have more value on honesty, transparency, and commitment. the types of values that can actually make someone a good leader
@9HW38SBPeace and Freedom5mos5MO
Their morals, their stance in social, economic, political issues. Also how they treat people
@ISIDEWITH7mos7MO
In a diverse society, how would political Catholicism affect people of different faiths or no faith at all?
I think political catholicism is not good for people of a different faith or no faith, as it is trying to push political values that a majority of people do not follow
@9H97YQ46mos6MO
Because it would force them to believe in certain kind of faiths
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
If you could advocate for one social issue that aligns with your beliefs, what would it be and why?
@9HGRJMGLibertarian6mos6MO
everyone taking care of everyone. It shows that a community is strong if one cares for another. it makes personal connections to everyone you help and helps put people in a good light.
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
What does 'being a good neighbor' mean in the context of international relations?

@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How does your cultural or religious background influence your stance on healthcare reform?
@9HWK9S4Republican5mos5MO
I don’t and have never compared the two. Except the abortion issue. I don’t think it should be used as a form of regular birth control.
@ISIDEWITH4mos4MO
How would the inclusion of respect for creation affect urban development and city planning?
@9JQKRZYPeace and Freedom4mos4MO
yes you need to respect others property and developments instead of thrashing it acting like its your property being disrespectful
@9JQKN664mos4MO
From my experience it improves city development and the respect for nature leads to better and more healthy environments.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
If empathy and compassion were the basis of all policies, how might that change governance?
@9J6J5794mos4MO
It would have abolished all previous policies that affect people negatively, such as segregation back in the 1900s.
It's a poor term because separation of church and state needs to be drawn more clearly, however compassion and empathy should be more important in these situations
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
What are your thoughts on the application of moral courage in political leadership?
@9J7PYFPIndependent4mos4MO
I think it is a good idea for others to be aware of.
@9J7PRCK4mos4MO
All Social organizations have the right to participate in Political discussions and advocate for their opinion unless they are advocating for non-democratic governmental processes.
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
What could be possible pros and cons of having politicians who strongly adhere to their religious convictions?
@jakeeubanks 6mos6MO
Some pros would be that we would have a more culturally diverse government, but that only work if we allow all religions. Cons would be that these people would try to use religion in their favor, as many catholic politicians are doing.
@9HMM2WL6mos6MO
I think there should be a separation of church and state
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
Imagine a political issue you feel passionate about; now, how would you argue your stance based on both secular and Catholic values?
@9HJW4DP6mos6MO
I feel like this is hard to answer as I’m not catholic. Although my biggest issue is the issue of money use in the government.
