How can respecting different cultural heritages build a more inclusive national identity?
@9KYFCK53mos3MO
The act of respecting all cultures will bring everyone together, causing us as a society to have better relationships with one another and to feel more united as a country.
@9KY4GDG3mos3MO
I think respecting other cultural heritages will make a big change in the world one day.
@9KY4KHR3mos3MO
people wont be trying to kill over others believes
@9KY4JDB3mos3MO
acknowledging and respecting different cultural heritages is what it means to be in a melting pot and what it means to be American, our differences make us who we are.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
Can you think of a time when learning about another culture deeply affected or changed you?
@9J2WZ735mos5MO
Learning about how segregation treating the people of color really changed my perspective on how people were treated back then. They did absolutely nothing wrong they are human beings too and they shouldn’t of been treated any differently than how white people were treated.
@9J565FG5mos5MO
I think it is important to understand and be educated on the differences we have, and to treat all peoples with the respect they have earned.
@9J2WYK65mos5MO
When I learned about Mexican culture, it deeply affected me because I am also part Mexican, and I learned things I didn't originally know.
@9J2WXXS5mos5MO
Learning more about other cultures changes everybody because then we can see from another point of view and understand other cultures better.

How do you feel about the idea that one's birthplace can shape their entire identity?
@9JJW6NQ4mos4MO
@9JJW7LJ4mos4MO
I believe that if you lived there for long enough then it could.
@9JJW6RZ4mos4MO
I think it should be removed. You place of birth is not relevant to your future identity. Where you were brought up is what should be considered.
@9JJW5G64mos4MO
I think one's birthplace does not shape their identity, but their character background does.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How do you navigate between maintaining cultural traditions and embracing modernity?
@9J2XKDP5mos5MO
Its tuff going to school where people are more Americanized and then going home and switching.
@9J6JT24Peace and Freedom5mos5MO
We just have to make sure sacred places aren't breached and that with modernizing we modernize ways to make the enviroment healthier.
@9J65WB35mos5MO
The world isn’t in black and white, not everything is one or the other. I can be Americanized at school and another culture at home. You can be both.
@9J2XFQTRepublican5mos5MO
I think that ethnic nationalism doesn't since because we have freedom of religeon and culture.
@9J2XJSB5mos5MO
No society has ever been built by one sole race, it's always been built on either cooperation or exploitation. I would strongly prefer if nations were built on cooperation in todays world.
@9J2XDR75mos5MO
Modernity is embracing my cultural traditions, stick to the same thing.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
What role do you think food plays in keeping cultural heritage alive?
@9J2WTQK5mos5MO
It keeps peoples native and traditional foods apart of the country.
@9J2X6DW 5mos5MO
I think food plays a big part in culture, so food should be diverse in order to keep cultural heritages alive, while also improving food diversity for Americans to choose from.
@9J2WXNF5mos5MO
Food from other cultures have memories and traditional flaws to it that make that food part of your culture.
@9J2WXJSWomen’s Equality5mos5MO
It keeps their culture and their cultural foods alive for generations.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
What would you want people to know or understand about your cultural heritage?
@9J2V7FT5mos5MO
I want people to understand that it is okay that my religion follows many different gods instead of one sole figure.
@9J2V6D95mos5MO
We need to humanize Arabs, the wars in the middle east have dehumanized them.
@9J2TY9Z5mos5MO
I would want people to know where my family came from in Europe and who is related to me.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
Do you think it's possible to celebrate one's own ethnic background while being inclusive of others?
@9JJVFBJ4mos4MO
I think everyone should support eachother's backrounds but theres too many stuck up jerks to have it be possible
@9JPLYG8Republican4mos4MO
There's always a bias involved, so for everyone to be inclusive and supportive is nearly impossible.
@9JJVJ63Republican4mos4MO
I think there shouldn't even be certain months to celebrate only a certain race.
@9JJV8NJ4mos4MO
Yes you can celebrate yourself with others but only if they want to be
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
Are the cultural or ethnic identities portrayed in popular media reflective of your life?
@9JJXRCQ4mos4MO
Yes, I have been racially inclusive and do not exclude or stereotype people based on race.
@9JJVZXGWomen’s Equality4mos4MO
yes and No, some things people talk about on the internet arent always important or dealt with me, so sometimes its important and other times I think its not as important to me.
@9JJVLLP4mos4MO
i think that it is bad that it is this out of control
@ISIDEWITH7mos7MO
Is a country stronger when all its citizens have the same ethnic background, or does diversity enhance a nation?
@9H5CX5PProgressive7mos7MO
Diversity is the core of progress. With many backgrounds and origins, you get many perspectives that can lead to social and political growth.
Diversity is neccessary to a having a well rounding nation because we are all a melting pot containing different cultures.
@9H5DGML7mos7MO
Diversity strengthens a nation and creates a rich community of diverse cultures.
@9H5HPV5Independent7mos7MO
Diversity can be an enhancing factor in a nation, but there still has to be a unifying force which supersedes ethnic identity. In the United States, that has been the philosophical notion of unalienable rights and self-government under the Constitution. Without that unifying force, ethnic diversity for its own sake is fractious.
