I approve any reduction of laws, reject any new laws, and support any expansion of rights. What I see here is a discovered right that needs to be added to the constitution.
A medical procedure should be between a doctor and the patient(s). No government involvement at all.
Is it moral to kill an unborn child? No it is probably not moral, but should it be illegal, no. There are plenty of laws that can be seen as immoral, such as capital punishment (killing is wrong) already working in society. *NOTE* That is meant as an example not a comparison.
This is a complex issue with both religious, privacy, health and human lives at the center of it. I can not imagine a government doing justice to anyone. The government should stay out of it completely or state a new right. This right would invalidate any laws that prevent a person from seeking any medical services and any infringement on that would consistute an infringement of a basic human right. (People far more intelligent than me could flesh that out... maybe let chatgpt have a crack at it.)
That would mean *laws* and legal frameworks can't stop a person from seeking medical help. It can still be expensive or a doctor could refuse treatment.
This would have a host of implications for the healthcare industry. But the courts can sort out the doctors, insurance companies, and other agencies for malpractice and other such issues (as we currently do).
